Coating Removers

LIFT-OFF™

Military Specification: TT-R-2918A TYI

PTS-202™ is a biodegradable peroxide based paint remover that is formulated to remove the most resilient coatings from metal and composite surfaces that conforms with military specification TT-R-2918A TYI.  This is a stable paint remover that will not corrode the metal.  PTS-202 works by breaking through the film of the paint and lifting the paint off in sheets instead of turning the paint to sludge.  This remover is easy and safe to use as well as clean up.

CAMA™ (PTS-294) meets Military Specification: MIL-R-81294D TYI & TYII CL. 2A.  The Certified Aircraft, Marine & Automotive Paint Remover (CAMA™) is a non-flammable fast acting Urethane, Epoxy and Marine finish remover.  CAMA™ is scientifically formulated to remove the most difficult surface coatings and stains.  Wash away action with water forms a foamy emulsion to get cracks, seems, moldings and crevices clean.  This product is viscous and formulated to cling to vertical surfaces.

XTREMESTRIP™

Military Specification:

XtremeStrip™ is a fast acting remover of varnish paint, enamels, lacquer, shellac, glue and mastic.  XtremeStrip™ is a very fluid – “water like” –  stripper that makes an excellent dip tank stripper.  It is formulated to be applied on flat surfaces – like floors.  XtremeStrip™ will not raise the grain or discolor the finest woods.  After stripping the coating on the substrate, it is not necessary to neutralize the surface with water before coating the stripped surface.

Cleaners

TURBINE ENGINE CLEANER

PTC-2003C is the concentrate version of PTI’s Turbine engine gas path cleaner  MIL-PRF-85704C TYII & TYIII.  This product has been formulated as an aqueous cleaner, concentrate for “off-line” (crank wash) and “on-line” (fired wash) cleaning of turbine engines.  This cleaner also works well with prop engines.  THIS IS A COMPLETELY 0 VOC CLEANER.

AIRCRAFT ALL PURPOSE CLEANER/DEGREASER

PTC-2001 specifically formulated to be biodegradable, water dilutable and environmentally safe for use on aerospace equipment, aircraft equipment, aircraft exteriors, aerospace/aircraft ground equipment (AGE), AGE Engines and landing gear.  PTC-2001 is the only product needed to remove hydraulic fluid, jet exhaust and other difficult to remove dirt and grime from aircraft.  PTC-2001 is non-caustic, biodegradable, doesn’t contain any solvents or HAPS (Hazardous Air Pollutants).  PTC-2001 exceeds all U.S., Japanese and European Community VOC standards.    THIS IS A COMPLETELY 0 VOC CLEANER.

Surface Preparation

PT-402 ACID ETCHING PRIMER
Part Number: PT-402 (YELLOW OR GREEN)
Military Specification: DOD-P-15328D, MIL-C-8514C-PT-1045 Reducer

PT-402 Acid Etching Primer, when properly reduced with PT-1045 Reducer, meets and exceeds MIL-C-8514C. PT-402 is a polyvinyl butyral zinc chromate formulation that may be used to prime all plain or plated metallic surfaces.  Priming surfaces with PT-402 Acid Etching Primer prior to priming with epoxy primer MIL-PRF-23377 or by itself will ensure maximum adhesion and protection of all bake or air-dry finish coats (including lacquer finish coats).  The finely ground emulsions of zinc chromate pigments, resins and phosphoric acid hardeners are virtually non-settling.  Once applied, the Acid Etching Primer requires no sanding and has a pot life of 8 hours.  Extreme humidity can affect the bonding of the coating.

PT-500K Epoxy Primer is a low VOC epoxy polyamide solvent primer on the Navy QPD as PT-500 GIC.  .PT-500KIC2 TY 1 CL. 2  is highly recommended for use on aluminum and other metallic surfaces to insure maximum protection against corrosion.  PT-500K Epoxy Primer also insures maximum adhesion of PTI TUF/FILM coating, polyurethane, epoxy, enamel, lacquer or any finish coats.     This Primer is intended to be used for aircraft, marine, original equipment manufacturing and all other industrial applications.

PT-522 ZINC CHROMATE PRIMER

Military Specification: TT-P-1757 TYI CLASS C & N

PT-522 Zinc Chromate PrimerTT-P-1757 TYI CLASS C & N  is a general purpose, rust inhibitive, alkyd primer.  It is intended for use over metals that are bare, scuffed, sanded, lightly rusted, abrasive blast and previously painted surfaces while showing excellent anti-corrosion properties.  The primer chemically etches into the surface to provide exceptional adhesion and durability.  Also, moisture in the air causes the zinc chromate to react with the metal surface, and it forms a passive film that prevents corrosion.  Although this primer is intended for metals, it may be applied to wood, composite and concrete surfaces.  PT-522 is not resistant to all solvents, i.e. MEK and Acetone.

PT-573 - FILLER/SANDING PRIMER

PT-573 Filler/ Sanding Epoxy Primer is a two component epoxy based primer. PT-573 is capable of filling small holes and imperfections before top coating. PT-573 provides a smooth, sandable base coat that improves the adhesion and appearance of the top coat. Because of PT-573’s unique formula, this primer also provides excellent rust and corrosion protection.  This primer is compatible with PTI’s topcoats.

Finish Coatings

PT-799 - POLYURETHANE
Part Number: PT-799 (PLUS COLOR#)
Military Specification: MIL-PRF-85285D/E Type I, II & IV Class H. This coating is on the NAVY QPD (Qualified Products Database) for TY I, II & IV (gloss only)

PT-799 Polyurethane is a high performance, two-component, polyurethane topcoat designed for exterior use on high performance, general aviation, business jet, and commercial aircraft.  This coating is also used widely for industrial, oil and gas as well as by original equipment manufacturers.  PT-799 Polyurethane meets, and exceeds,.. These high performance coatings have excellent resistance to hydraulic jet fluid, fuel, crude oil, impact, salt and ultraviolet rays.  PT-799 Polyurethane is extremely durable with excellent color and gloss retention.

PT-799 Conductive Black is also available.  It is formulated as an electrically conductive paint which can be used for coating and sealing non-metallic surfaces by brushing or spraying. The Conductive Coating is intended for use where an electrostatic discharge path is required for electrical continuity on non-metallic substrates.

PT-355 Engine Enamel is a heat resistant enamel packaged in bulk or aerosol cans.  It is intended for use over metal surfaces that can withstand temperatures of 500°F. Although some colors will darken at this temperature, the integrity of the coating will remain intact. The Engine Enamel can be applied over bare, scuffed, sanded, abrasive blasted, primed and previously painted surfaces and shows excellent protection.

Our “TTE” enamel coatings are high performance, single component enamel topcoats designed for interior use on high performance general aviation, business jet, and commercial aircraft.  These coatings are excellent exterior coatings on substrates that are not subjected to harsh environments.  PT-381 enamel meets, and exceeds TT-E-489J (Gloss only)PT-382 enamel meets and exceeds TT-E-529G & A-A-2962 (semi-gloss only) and PT-383 (flat only) enamel meets and exceeds TT-E-527D These high performance coatings can be applied over wood, composite or metal surfaces.   These products are available in bulk or aerosol.

Lubricants

PT-605 ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND

PT-605 Anti-Seize Compound is a silicone based grease with a high pigmentation of microfine molybdenum disulfide.  It is heat stable and will not decompose or form a gum deposit.  It is effective under light or medium bearing loads on steel to bronze, metal babbitt, zinc, nylon, Teflon or hard-anodized aluminum surfaces.  PT-605 is an  EXTREME PRESSURE grease that protects from galling, seizing and fretting.  Also this product is virtually waterproof which helps to provide excellent rust and corrosion protection.  Normally it is suitable for operating temperatures of  -65° F to +1000° F.  This product is best used as a lubricant for gaskets threads, parts and gears that are exposed to excessive temperatures ranges.

PT-101 MOLY SPRAY

Moly spray is unequaled as a lubricant for machine tools, plastic molding machines, paper and textile making equipment, oven mechanisms, and sheet metal and tube bending operations.  It is highly recommended for use wherever pressures or temperatures are extreme or environmental conditions render liquid lubricants undesirable.  In field tests, Moly Spray has proven superior for widely diversified uses.  It is outstanding in numerous industrial and military applications including automobile mechanisms, sporting equipment, office machines, lathes, milling machines, planers, presses, chucks, arbors, bearings, universal joints and controls, and adjustments.  Moly Spray is also effective in broaching cold swaging, drawing, stretching, forming, and press-fit operations.  Moly Spray excels as a lubricant, anti-galling, or separating agent on steel, steel alloys, cast iron, aluminum or aluminum alloys, copper alloys, lead and zinc alloys, titanium, wood, rubber, plastics, ceramics and glass.

PT-650 TOOTH MARKING GREASE

PT-650 Tooth Marking Grease is an ester based oil with high pigmentation loading.  Although PT-650 has the consistency of a thick paste, it may be thinned or thickened to meet your requirements.  PT-650 is a lubricant for marking teeth on gears to enable one to determine when maintenance is necessary.

Military Specification: PT-14 IS NOT A MIL SPEC COATING, PT-17 IS MIL-L 46010 TY II

These dry film lubricants are intended to be applied to equipment such as but not limited to steel, aluminum, magnesium, clutches, gears, shafts and other mechanical parts which function under extreme weathering and/or operating conditions.

PT-14 is a microfine Molybdenum Disulphide with graphite in a multi-polymer thermosetting resin binder.  PT-14 is supplied in concentrate form requiring reduction with PT-1002 solvent.  PT-14 is designed for operating temperatures from -100F too +500F.

PT-17 is a microfine Molybdenum Disulphide (no graphite) in a multi-polymer thermosetting resin binder 9.  PT-17 is supplied in concentrate form requiring reduction with PT1002 solvent.  PT-17 is designed for operating temperatures between -300F and +500F.  Meets MIL-L 46010 TY II.

PT-24M is a Molydbenum Disolphide in a multi-polymer bake cure resin binder. This product contains laminar solids and soft metals.  The soft metals are employed to improve wear characteristics under certain conditions that are largely determined by electrical and thermal conductivity.  PT-24M has been proven to be the product for high temperature and high speed dry film lubrication.  This dry film lubricant is intended to be applied to equipment such as but not limited to steel, aluminum, magnesium, clutches, gears, shafts and other mechanical parts which function under extreme weathering and/or operating conditions.

PT-24G is a Graphite pigment in a multi-polymer bake cure resin binder. Additives

POLYKICK™ ACCELERATOR

Polykick™ is a paint additive formulated by Products Techniques Inc. to accelerate the air dry time of two component polyurethane topcoat systems.   While this product reduces dry times it will not accelerate chemical cure rates.  A full chemical cure for two component polyurethane systems typically takes 4 to 7 days.  Polykick™ will accelerate the dry time of any two component polyurethane system not just PTI’s coatings.

NO POP™ RETARDER

No Pop™  is a specially formulated additive. When paint is applied, particularly by spraying, the solvents that carry the resin and the pigments “flash off” – evaporate.  This product is used to slow that process particularly in hot and humid weather.  This allows the paint to flow evenly and prevents a condition known as “solvent pop”—the formation of small air bubbles on the surface of the paint.  It also prevents a condition known as “dry spray”—solvent evaporating before the paint hits the surface of the substrate.  So, No Pop™   keeps the material wet allowing it to flow, dry, and cure as it should.

NO PEEL™

No Peel™ – PT-900 is formulated to enable epoxy and polyurethane topcoats flow evenly despite certain surface defects or contaminants.  This additive helps prevent “Orange Peel”—the pitting in paint caused by contaminants on the substrate’s surface or in the spray gun. No Peel™ is flow additive.
